An Investigation into Social Studies Teachers’ Self-Efficacy Perceptions about Basic Skills in the Social Studies Curriculum

The aim of this study is to investigate the self-efficacy perceptions Social Studies teachers about basic skills in 2018 curriculum. In Turkey, according changes made curriculum 2018, lessons are given students 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades, comprise 27 skills, This investigated 143 working Istanbul province. found that majority felt themselves be “inefficient” following skills: research, perception change continuity, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, legal literacy, collaboration, using evidence, perceiving space, political drawing interpreting table, graphics diagrams, innovative time chronology. Additionally, it was believed they were at a “good” or “very good” level efficacy concerning environmental digital empathy, financial observation, map communication, stereotypical judgment prejudice, decision making, location analysis, media self-control, problem solving, social participation, correct, beautiful, effective use Turkish. indicates most who participated perceived as being positive/efficient 16 skills. Therefore, efficacies regarding could provide opportunities for these individuals apply strategies, methods, techniques their students.
